Diagram of ear |
– The student draws an ear with missing parts, and is unable to label the parts of the ear, or explain how sound is detected through vibrations moving through the ear to send a message to the brain so sound is detected. |
The student correctly draws and labels the ear (ear canal and ear drum) and the brain and states that the ear drum hears but does not give a detailed account of how sound is detected through vibrations of the ear drum sending a message to the brain. |
The student correctly draws and labels the ear ear canal and ear drum) and brain and explains that vibrating sound waves enter the ear canal, the vibrations cause the ear drum to vibrate back and forth , and send a message to the brain so that sound is detected. |
