Volunteering for 2012-2013
If you registered to volunteer during the 2011-2012 school year, you will need to reactivate your status starting July 6. If you do this from July 6 – October 31st, you will not require a background check; therefore, it will automatically go through. The volunteer site will be open daily. If you wait until after October 31, it will require a background check and the site will only be open on Mondays starting November 5th. Registering to be a volunteer is NOT the same as signing in at the office. The office system is ONLY a visitor management system, not a volunteer registration system.
Lost and Found
LAST CHANCE to claim your items!!!! There are still many, many items in Lost and Found. Please check the pictures at the website below. All items not picked up by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27th, will be donated to a charity.

From the Health Room
This is a reminder for students who require medications while at school or who need emergency medications to be available for them at school. You will need to obtain a NEW 1702 form for the 2012-2013 school year. Medications will not be dispensed unless this form has been provided to the Health Room. If you have already received this form for the new school year, please bring it to the office.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED:
The TCE PTA is currently looking for a VP of Grants and Giving for the 2012-2013 school year. The responsibilities for this board position are to work with a team to identify and submit grant proposals for the needs of our school, as well as seek out corporate sponsors to support major fundraising efforts. This VP will offer leadership and support to the team of volunteers, as well as attend monthly board meetings. To inquire more about this valued position or to join the PTA team, please contact Donna Webb (donnajwebb3@gmail.com) or Kelly Elg (kelg@nc.rr.com) or Missy Laster (mlaster@wcpss.net).

WOW! I’m sitting here wondering how it got to be so close to the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL for for tracks 2, 3 and 4. I guess time flies when you are surrounded by such fabulous people. J
- Fifth Grade Recognition Ceremony will be June 29th, tracks 2 and 3 will be at 9:30 am and track 4 will be 11:00.
- Please remember to let us know if you have a change in address or phone number. We will need updated information to ensure that you receive important school information for the upcoming year.
- Class assignments will be posted in the front window after 5:00pm on July 5th.
- Please remember that ALL students should exit out of the front of the building. Please do not park in the back area where busses are parked and have your children meet you. This is a very important safety concern for all students.
- Important dates:
July 6 Meet the Teacher for tracks 1, 2 & 3 2:30-3:30 PM
July 9 First day of school for tracks 1, 2 & 3
July 16 Kindergarten Information Session for Parents, tracks 1, 2 & 3 9:15 AM
July 26 Meet the Teacher, track 4 5:00-6:00 PM
July 30 First day of school for track 4
Aug 6 Kindergarten Information Session for Parents, track 4 9:15 AM
Flip Flop Reminder:
We have had many pairs of flip flops break during the school day. If you send your child to school wearing flip flops, please try to send them with a second pair of BACKUP shoes. We do not have many spare shoes and we cannot always fix the broken shoes. Please keep in mind that students need to have shoes on at all times. So if we do not have any extra shoes we will need to call someone to bring new shoes.
Media Center needs your help:
If you’re interested in helping the Media Center get prepared for the close of one year and the opening of the next, we could use your help! Jobs include: shelving, repairing, cleaning, and creative input. An hour or anything you can spare would be appreciated. Contact Anne Geer at ageer@wcpss.net or stop by. Thank you!
