Team Chess Tournament

On Sunday, December 9th, there will be a team chess tournament at Cary Academy sponsored by Chess Achieves.  It would be great if we could get one or more teams together from Turner Creek! Please contact Marion Bhatt if your student wishes to be on the team.  We can take as many teams as we want, but we need at least four children to make a team. For more information, please check

http://raleighchessacademy.com/tournaments/.

In other chess news, Josh Bhatt attended a chess tournament in Raleigh, sponsored by Chess Achieves, and received 1st place in his section.  We wish him our congratulations!

If you have any questions or want more information, please contact Marion Bhatt, marionbhatt@gmail.com.

Book Fair Buzz!

The TCE Scholastic Book Fair is going on now through December 7th in the Media Center. Be sure to come by to see our great selection of books for all ages! It is a great place to get presents for everyone on your list, including your favorite teachers. The Fair will run all next week. We will be open from 8:45-6:00pm every day except for Friday Dec. 7, when we will be open until 4:00pm.  If you cannot come by, you may send money with your child and we will help them make selections.

If it's more convenient, this year we also offer an online fair. It will run until December 9th.  Just go to:

http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/turnercreek

From here you can select from a huge variety of Scholastic products.  All online orders ship for FREE to the school, after the online fair has ended.

Remember, all proceeds from the Fair go to buy books for our school library collection.  Thank you so much for your support!
